I would have written this last night after getting back from the movie theater, but I kinda needed to get some sleep in order to wake up at 5:45 in the morning for work. Lucky me...
So myself, Matt, Neal, Ben, Sara, and Todd went and saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the new Tim Burton movie starring none other than Johnny Depp. I must admit, this movie was probably better than the original movie starring Gene Wilder. Don't get me wrong, the original was great. This version, however, was definitely funnier, and you got into the story a little more. For example, in the original, you really didn't care much about Charlie. Honestly, I could have cared less if he got the golden ticket or not. In this movie, Tim Burton does a fantastic job with character developement, that you really care that Charlie gets the ticket or not.
The factory was very well done. It wasn't like a fun house like the original. It was still crazy to be inside, but still awesome none-the-less.
There were a lot of great moments and quotes throughout the entire movie, and I strongly recommend you seeing it. Don't go in trying to compare it to the original, for you won't be able to. They are two completely different movies with only the same characters, that's about it.
Well, I'm out for now. I'll catch you all later. Peace!!

Ben and I saw it this weekend as well... I heart Depp!! The genius of Burton/Depp/Elfman rivals even Miyazaki. Tuff shyt.
